Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency oversees the list of banned pesticides on cannabis thus ensuring consumer safety. Health Canada has established limits of quantification (LoQ) for these pesticide-active ingredients in different types of cannabis such as plants, fresh and dried cannabis.

These limits, specific to each product type, undergo periodic review and adjustment based on advances in chemical analysis technology. Health Canada holds the authority to enforce compliance under the Cannabis Act and Pest Control Products Act, taking action against unauthorized PCPs or misuse of authorized ones.

Unauthorized use of banned pesticides can be reported to hc.compliance-cannabis-conformite.sc@canada.ca.
